Puri region of the erstwhile Indian state of Orissa, also known as Purushottam Puri, Shankh Kshetra, Srikshetra, is the main pastime of Lord Shri Jagannath. The presiding deity of Utkal Pradesh is considered to be Shri Jagannathji. Vaishnavism here believes that the symbol of the couple idol of Radha and Shri Krishna is Sri Jagannathji himself. As a symbol, the whole world has emerged from Shri Jagannath. Shri Jagannath ji is the perfect God and Lord Krishna is a form of his art. Such recognition is of Pancha Sakhas, disciples of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
Purna Paratpara Lord Shri Jagannath ji's Rath Yatra begins at Jagannathpuri on Ashada Shukla Dwitiya. It is also the main festival of Rath Yatra Puri. To participate in it, thousands of children, millions of children, aged, young, women come from the remote provinces of the country to benefit its philosophy.
